Description
When fabricating with a thicker acrylic and Acri-Bond 105 you may find it does not capillary effect all the way through the joint. This leaves parts of the joint untouched by the adhesive and can be quite unsightly as there is a distinct difference of what has and hasn’t been bonded in the joint. This happens because Acri-Bond 105 is evaporating and fusing the acrylic together faster than it flows through the joint.
Instructions
When you mix Additive Type N in with Acri-Bond 105 it will slow down the evaporation of Acri-Bond 105 allowing it to fully penetrate the joint before it starts to evaporate. It will take some trial and error to get your mixing ratios right we recommend between 5-10% Additive N to Acri-Bond 105. There is no right or wrong amount as there are many other variables at play and it will come down to personal preference, technique, environment, thickness of acrylic being used and amount of product being applied into the joint. We recommend setting up some samples and doing a few test runs to see what works best for your application.
In some cases where the acrylic is too thick or you are attempting to laminate clear acrylic a capillary activator will be necessary. We will have one available shortly.

Mixing
Mix Additive N 5-10% with Acri-Bond 105
Warning: Do not put this mixture back into the original container of Acri-Bond 105 as the steel can may potentially rust. A glass or aluminum container for storage of unused Acri-Bond 105 + Additive N is suitable.
